The aim of the project was to create a green solution for flood prevention.
As a part of efforts in creating a more efficient and green draining system, a green roof top was created. The M. Krista Lloyd Sky Garden is the first green roof on the University of Louisville campus. It is expected to reduce heating and cooling for the building by as much as 25%.
The roof’s efficient drip irrigation system – fed by captured storm water in an underground tank – is just one of the many green systems employed in the new building addition.
